Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara… Brown
I expected better, although once applied, this is OK. It's the application that is the problem – and, believe me, I've spent a lifetime applying mascara. Overall, this is a decent product if you can apply it correctly. Or if the horrible brush permits. I didn't really notice any lengthening. Three stars because:-
Pros:
– at last a brown! It goes on dark, but is still softer than the brownish-black that has been pretty much the only available alternative.
– it washes off with soap and water. Honestly, it does. Without undue rubbing. Removing is easy at night, or when you goof in the initial application.
– it has not irritated sensitive eyelids so far. UPDATE: SADLY, SOME IRRITATION – after several wears I appear to have become sensitized… So, back to brownish-black Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara. Individual reactions will differ, of course.
– it works well on sparse eyebrows too (one coat, quickly, combed through with dry brush, catches the little hairs).
Cons:
– it's a fairly liquid formula.
– the brush is total **** – and that's not four stars. Other silicone brushes have worked fine for me – what's with this one?
– the application can be hit-and-miss. Blotting the product from the brush, by squeezing repeatedly with a tissue, still leaves too much product to separate overloaded lashes reliably. I will be keeping a dry brush available for clean-ups, but I found that washing it off and starting again produces a better result.
– multiple coats require care. This can put you into clown territory very quickly.
Finally, and nothing to do with the product itself, the substantial case is a weird colour, with unusually large raised lettering running down the length, rather like your grandmother's favourite majolica jug. The one you've always hated. The one she's going to leave you.

This is the best mascara I ever I’m used to buying the Lancome $40 mascara because I have super short thin fair eyelashes but when I use this, it gives me serious volume and length stays on all day actually is quite difficult to get off, I recommend using BioDerm or a make up mouth type of eye make up remover to get it off. The place is it doesn’t flake during the day and when you work out and sweat, it never bleeds onto the skin.
